On Weds, 11/01/00, my world changed forever...

For about three years I'd been having occasional episodes (maybe once every two - three months) of *extreme* light headedness, bordering on loss of consciousness.

(I know this sounds strange, but please keep reading, it'll come together in a sec!!)

To make a long story short, thanks to my lovely wife, it's come to an end! When I had two of these "episodes" within 24 hours, she urged me to go see a doc. I did. That afternoon I found myself in the Emergency Room of Hillcrest Medical Center (Tulsa, OK)! One week later I was released! Very long story, cut very short: I had a very rapid heartbeat (over 210 bpm at times) and some valve damage. Hopefully nothing the medication and a defibrillator implant, exercise and periodic check-ups can't deal with! ;-)

What's all this have to do with Konriko, you ask?!

As a result of the above, I was placed on a restricted sodium (<2g/daily) diet. Well, since I've used Konriko Greek Seasoning for several years now, I recently e-mailed Konriko and asked them if they made any sodium-free or low sodium spices (eg; Authentic Greek, etc.). The president of the company (Mike Davis) promptly e-mailed me back within 1 business day and replied that they did not have such a product at this time. HOWEVER, he said that he would see to it that I got a few cans of their famous Greek seasoning, made sodium free - just for me! Free of charge!!! Now THAT's what *I* call customer service! This company - the oldest rice mill in the U.S.- is taking the time to deal with ONE person's needs and requirements! Amazing! Maybe this'll lead to a new product for them. It certainly will lead for enhanced health for ME! By the way, IMHO, Konriko's is FAR SUPERIOR to several of the salt substitutes on the market - including "Mrs. Dash", etc.

Can't wait to tell Clark Howard about this company!
